If you receive the following error when sending email:

Email Error: 550 not local host
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server.
Server Response: '550 not local host domain.co.uk, not a gateway'

You will need to access your email account advanced settings and find the servers tab. Tick the box stating 'My Server Requires Authentication'. The default settings of using the same username and password as POP for SMTP are correct.

Important things to remember:

Your Incoming Server (POP3) is pop.theinternet.org.uk
Your Outgoing Server (SMTP) is smtp.theinternet.org.uk
Always use your full email address as the User Name to login to the mail systems.

Your account is on a secure mail server, you must authenticate in order to send email as well as to receive it.
For MS Outlook users this means ticking the 'My server (SMTP) requires authentication' on the Servers tab of the advanced settings dialog.

If you are missing email, remember to check your SpamShifter account before contacting support.

All domain mail accounts have a nominated administrator who can setup new email addresses and accounts on the mail system, please contact them to create new accounts.
